How to Record Your 3 Engine Samples
Please create three separate recordings. For each one, record approximately 30 seconds at idle and another 30 seconds at about 2000 RPM.
Engine Contact Recording
Remove the case or cover from one corner of your cell phone if needed so a bare corner of the phone can make contact.
With the engine running, place that bare corner gently against the valve cover or another safe metal part of the engine.
- 30 seconds with the engine at idle
- 30 seconds with the engine at approximately 2000 RPM
Fuse Box Contact Recording
Using the same bare corner of the phone, gently touch the phone to the fuse box located inside the engine compartment.
- 30 seconds at idle
- 30 seconds at approximately 2000 RPM
Airborne Recording
Hold the phone about one foot above the engine, touching nothing.
- 30 seconds at idle
- 30 seconds at approximately 2000 RPM
